1970 a day in July
A Day at the Parthenon If you are not a Carole King,James Taylor or Joni Mitchell fan it will not make sense.
Tapersty helped me and Pam get thru the summer after he left….
Johnny ,Pam ,Terry , Poncho ,Jennifer and I decided to take one of our many adventures before school started back ,we didnt leave Benton and Perry Co much so this was a big adventure we were planning. It dont seem like it took long to plan something back in those days .Alot of our traveling was from Benton to Perry Co and from the courthouse to Westend Market to Eva then the gravel pits. Johnny just got a 65 Falcon convertible we would put the top down and enjoy our freedom
This one day we had 15.79 between us and after gas and a pack of Marlboros we decided we would go to go to the Parthenon in Nashville and then go get a few Krystal burgers, we could get 12 for a $1.00 on Charlotte Pike and a box of Krispey Cream donuts.. Yep we were on our way…….
.
The Parthenon was and is an awesome building to go through we all walked around for a while looking at the sites. Jennifer and I decided to go outside and enjoy the [BEAUTIFUL] day we had seen everything we had wanted too and we would meet the others at the steps later
She had shared about some songs she was writing and we shared some of our hobbies. I told her I had several hobbies that I liked macrame and doing [TAPESTRY] work that a lot of the women in my family did that I told her about the Tapestry poem where on one side it looks awful and turns it over it is beautiful just like life can be.
As we were sitting there all of a sudden there was a small earthquake we all jumped up surprised and I said
We saw
In 1971 I saw on tv where the same lady won album of the year…for [Tapestry]
