My First Love and Dream Date
I love this old bridge …Short Creek Bridge in Perry County….this bridge is where I had my first real date with my first true love David Lee ,we both lived on Brooklyn St at one time..I lived at the bottom of the hill in a beautiful old, duplex he lived at the top of the hill in the sharp curve the house was beautiful that he lived in as it still is.. but at this time mom,Johnny,Dicky and I had moved up town behind the Church of Christ into a luxury home it had a bathroom inside with a shower and sink.
David Lee and I would ride our bikes together around the neighborhood and down town we were in the same class together one time we decided to ride just a little further we had saw all the sites in our neighborhood and we were up for some adventure we knew where the old Short Creek Bridge was and figured it would be ok so we took off for our date ..going down by the riverside I can still remember the freedom I felt that day we had never been that far before on our bikes ..it was a such sweet love ..he had just gave me me a very beautiful Valentines card in Mrs. Maurines class..it was official he had ask me to be his valentine ,no words were exchanged we just knew …..2nd graders can love too..but that was the end to my true love…because mom found out and grounded me..and he moved off after that…gone were the days of riding our bikes , catching lighting bugs , simple love, and adventures on the Buffalo,I have never saw nor heard from him again but I have never forgot our true love I would still like to know who told on us..it wasnt that far just a couple of miles and we went the back roads…
When I confronted Andy about doing something he would always say, did Jesus tell you. Lol
What a sweet story Belinda. happy Valentines day in tribute to your first love.
Lol and yes HE did
I feel slighted! I cant remember ever riding bikes with a girl! well,,,one without a motor anyway,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Lovely story Belinda! I too remember my first love in Kindergarten.
Oh, I just loved your Valentine story, Belinda! It was so good! You really should write a book about all of the adventures you had when you were growing up, because it would be as good as “Little House on the Prairie!” I never can wait to read one of your stories and wish my childhood had been as exciting as yours was and as much fun!!
Thank you Thomina …it posted on the site….how did you get it done?
Thank you Teresa
I imagine you did your riding around…
Thank you Alice it was true love too..
Sweet story, I could almost feel like I could of been that little girl.
I read your stories each time as though I’m reading them for the first time! That’s the merit of a good story!
Thank you so much … appreciate it…
ah I believe it is the sweetest love
Thank you Niecy
